A purpose-built forestry mulcher excavator with power pack is designed specifically for mulching and land clearing. Every component — powertrain, hydraulics, cooling system, undercarriage, and frame — works together to provide consistent high torque and full hydraulic flow to the mulching head.

In contrast, mini excavators with mulcher attachments are primarily digging machines that have been retrofitted with mulchers.  The relative difference is the ability to mulch at up to five times faster.
